Founder of Bambi Medical receives special award from the King of the Netherlands
Sidarto Bambang Oetomo, founder and Chief Medical Officer of Bambi Medical became "Ridder in de Orde van de Nederlandse Leeuw" (Knight in the Order of the Dutch Lion) last Thursday. Sidarto received this award for his achievements throughout his career as a neonatologist. In particular, for reducing mortality rate of premature babies with his work and establishing the start-up Bambi Medical, which he hopes will become of great importance worldwide for the development of pre-terms.
Royal awards are granted by the Dutch King annually on the occasion of King's Day. In total 2906 honours were granted this year. Sidarto received a very rare award, only 18 people were granted this year with "Ridder in de Orde van de Nederlandse Leeuw".
